Privacy
We collect only what you type into the review form. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't sell or share personal data with camps or anyone else.
Who is responsible
SummerCampAdvisor is run by Luca Niedrau. For anything about your data, write to luca@summercampadvisor.com.
What we collect when you write a review
| What | Shown publicly? | Why we need it |
|---|---|---|
| Camp, summer, session, your age at camp | Yes | So readers know which camp and when. |
| First name | Yes, first name only | So the review reads as written by a person. |
| Rating, answers and review text | Yes | This is the review. |
| Your email address | No | To verify you attended and to contact you about your review. |
| Your current age | No | To know whether a parent has to agree first. |
| A parent's email (under 16 only) | No | To ask for their consent. |
| Booking confirmation or photos, if you send them | No | To verify you attended. We delete them once checked. |
Under 18
If you're 16 or 17, you can agree to this yourself and post on your own. If you're 13 to 15, we email your parent or guardian and publish your review only after they agree. If they don't reply within 30 days, we delete it. We don't accept reviews from anyone under 13. A parent can ask us to delete the review of a child under 18 at any time.
Where it's kept
Reviews are stored in Google Workspace (Google Sheets and Gmail), and the website is hosted by Netlify. Both act on our instructions and may process data outside the EU under standard contractual clauses. Netlify keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses.
Cookies and tracking
None. We use no analytics, no advertising and no cookies. While you fill in the review form, your draft is kept in your own browser so you don't lose it; it's cleared when you send the review or close the tab.
How long we keep it
For as long as your review is published. When a review is deleted, we delete the email addresses that came with it too.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw your consent, at any time by emailing us. A parent can do the same for their child. We act on these requests within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
