Write a review

How reviews work

The short version: anyone aged 13 or over who went to a camp can review it, we read every review before it's published, and every review shows what we checked about the person who wrote it.

What the labels mean

Verified · known to us

We personally know the reviewer went to that camp.

Verified · booking seen

The reviewer sent us their booking confirmation.

Verified · photos seen

The reviewer showed us photos from that camp and summer.

Not verified

We couldn't check. The review is still published, with this label on it.

A reviewer chooses how they'd like to be verified. We only apply a "verified" label after we've done the check ourselves.

Who can write a review

What we publish

We publish positive and negative reviews alike. We don't change scores, and we fix nothing in the text except removing a surname or contact detail.

What we don't publish

If a review describes someone being harmed

A review that describes abuse, a crime, or someone being in danger is not published as a review. We write back to the reviewer, and to their parent if they're under 18, with information on where to report it. If someone appears to be at risk now, we may pass the information to the relevant authorities.

Replies from camps

A camp that has claimed its page can reply to any review. The reply appears under the review and is labelled as coming from the camp. Camps can't edit or delete reviews, and can't pay to change what is shown.

Scores

A camp's score is the plain average of its published reviews, from 1 (bad) to 5 (loved it). A camp with no reviews has no score.

Changing or removing your review

Email luca@summercampadvisor.com from the address you used and we'll edit or delete it. A parent can ask us to delete their child's review at any time.

Reporting a review

If you think a review breaks these rules, email us the camp name and the reviewer's first name, and say what's wrong. We look at every report.
